Volkswagen to sell its iconic hatchback(polo) with 1.0 L TSI and MPI engine in india.

I can catch your mind...you may think..."1.0l engine???? Whats about the power of polo??shit !!"

This engine was refined to retain the punch of polo although it was 1.0 liter. let us have some interesting knowledge about it.

1.0 L - it represents that the engines displacement is nearly equals to 1000cc.

MPI(Naturally aspirated version with low power) - Multipoint Fuel Injection(each cylinder has a dedicated fuel injector)"The ECU decides the appropriate quantity and pressure of the gasoline fuel to be sprayed for the rich air fuel mixture".

TSI - Turbocharged Stratified Injection

Turbocharged - as we already known the intake air was turbo forced to increase the power by maintaining the effeciency.

Stratified - its similar to the word layer, the word "stratified" mentions that the fuel is injected as such to create the layer of air fuel mixture inside the combustion chamber above the piston.

IVTEC SYSTEM . .  IVTEC stands for intelligent- variable valve timing and electronic lift control is a system developed by honda to increase the volumetric efficiency of an internal combustion engine, resulting in higher performance at lower RPM. Here the cam phasing is implemented by computer controlled, oil-driven adjustable cam sprocket or the electrically actuated cam phaser (it replaces the oil pressure actuated cam phaser). Thus, this system provides continuous cam phasing and discrete variable valve lift controls using CPS concept. This system consists of a camshaft with a centre high lift cam and outer low lift cams and associated rocker arms. For light load operation, the valves are operated by the two outer, low lift cams and associated rocker arms. For high power operation, hydraulic pressure is used to insert a pin to lock the middle rocker arm to the outer rocker arms for operation on the high lift cam.
