This TSI(Turbocharged stratified injection)is the heart of volkswagn GTI comes under the family of EA888.

Now what is EA888??? The EA888 is the four or three cylindered engines made by volkswagen groups.These GTI uses four cylinder EA888 engine with advanced technologies which are mentioned below and has number of sensors and mechatronics which increases the engines intelligence and good man machine interface.

πŸ’₯water cooled Exhaust : The exhaust manifold is integrated with cylinder head so the coolant is heated up very qucikly with increases the thermal effeciency, reduces the wear,enhances the catalytic convertor's work. 

πŸ’₯variable valve lift : It has four sliders on the exhaust cams.The cam slides during operation which has more lift on the cam.The higher lift increases the exhaust flow during higher RPM. 

πŸ’₯Balance shaftes :mounted up higher in engine block.It eleminates the secondary forces made by engine and reduces the Noice and vibration of the engine. 

πŸ’₯varying link intake manifolds : It optimizes the torque and horsepower throughout the RPM range. It has adjustable flaps which helps the engnie a lot above 3.8k RPM. 

πŸ’₯Fuel injection system : Direct injection.The nozzle contains 6 tiny poers for the fuel to be sprayed directly into the cylinder.The fuel comes out roughly at 50 degree cone it prevents the fuel hitting the intake valves and avoids the valve damage.It can function over 200 bar.The fuel injection is controlled by the solenoid coils.
